Boys: Saturdays – Girls: Sundays
Every player has one mid-week practice (if you have a preference on a day, please indicate when registering under special requests. We will try our best to accommodate, but can’t guarantee). You will be given the practice day/time in mid-August. For the first 4 weeks, players will have a mid-week practice outside at Minnekhada Oval. After 4 weeks, the players will move into a gym for practices. The practice will stay on the same night at the same time, but indoor. Locations are TBD.
Weekend games will always be held at Minnekada Oval. All U7 players will play games in the early afternoons. (boys on Saturday, girls on Sunday). It will be a fun-filled small sized game environment where same aged teams will play each other within the club. The season will take a break over December and resume mid-January with the season concluding at the Mini’s Jamboree generally the week before SD43 Spring Break.
12pm – 1pm
The program start date is the weekend of September 8/9 and goes until December 8/9. We will break over the holiday and start back the weekend of January 12/13.
The season ends with the Mini’s Jamboree
September 16 – Girls start times will be adjusted to the afternoon due to the Terry Fox Hometown Run
There will be no games on Thanksgiving Weekend or Family Day Weekend.
You should register your child for the upcoming season the weekend of the Mini Jamboree and as soon as possible to guarantee placement onto a team and to avoid late fees.
Rosters will be provided to coaches by the end of August.
You will be contacted by your child’s coach, who will provide you with practice times and game schedules. Please make sure that the email and phone number that we have in our system is correct or we will not be able to make contact with you.
Your child will need to have soccer shoes, shin pads and a water bottle. These are mandatory at every game and practice. For all U6 – U8 age groups, players need runners as practices are held indoors in gymnasiums starting in October.
Your registration fee covers the cost of games, practices, fields, gyms, jersey, shorts and socks, and referee’s when required.
For boys, an athletic supporter is recommended.
The U is short for “under”. Age groups for teams are determined by the year of birth of the child. Players must be “under” the age level as of December 31st in order to play for that age level.
For example, for a player to participate in the U7 level, he or she must be 6 years old and not have attained the age of 7 years prior to December 31st of the year that you are registering in.
